At Brooklands our children learn French. Learning a language fosters our pupils’ curiosity and deepens their understanding of wider world contexts and cultures. Our approach to teaching this subject enables our children to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. It also provides opportunities for them to communicate for practical purposes.
Brooklands celebrates the European Day of Languages where we actively promote language learning across all year groups as well as celebrating Bastille Day (La Fête Nationale).
