At Brooklands we know how important it is for our children to develop their learning in an engaging way and build skills relevant for their future learning and life skills and with this in mind, in addition to leading approaches to outdoor learning at Brooklands we are also committed to making the most of advances in technology, both in and out of the classroom.
Our considerable investment in resources, high-speed internet and wireless network mean that our children are able to use a range of devices to research, create, connect and share, developing both their digital literacy and computing skills.
Each class has interactive whiteboards, and we are able to deliver the Computing curriculum and incorporate ICT across the curriculum using iPads and touchscreen laptops. Technology skills are developed in all year groups from Early years resources through to Year 6, with everything from remote-control toys, Bee-bots, walkie-talkies and digital cameras, through to electrical items such as bread makers, smoothie makers and sewing machines.
Our provision also extends outside of school, through access to online subscriptions for Mathletics, Purple Mash and Times Tables Rock Stars. Teachers also use ClassDojo to share text, photo and video updates on your child’s learning within class and keep you informed of what is going on within school, giving you an exciting incite into your child learning in action.
